'mateco' invests this year again strongly in new RUTHMANN`s STEIGER ® working platform technology. After the well-known rental company has already been assigned more orders to us in the past two years, we can look forward again this year to orders of several working platforms.
mateco has mainly again ordered a whole bunch of new truck mounted aerial platforms on 3.5 t chassis – just as in 2014 and 2015 .
mateco has also chosen a VERSALIFT ® of type ETL-36-130-F in addition to our STEIGER ® - top sellers TB 220, TB 270 and TBR 220.
IAs a result of the changed license classification, the working platform rental companies have seen a continuously increasing demand for working platforms on 3.5 t chassis.
Reason for this is the modified driving license classification in Germany and other European countries as England and Austria. Everybody who does the driving license class B in Europe, is only allowed to drive vehicles of a permissible total weight of up to 3.5 t.
Moreover, mateco has again ordered a CITY-STEIGER ® TU 285 - mounted on 7.49-t chassis.
Last year mateco customers had achieved optimal performance results with the delivered units of this model. Thanks to its compact design and combined with the ‘rear-end structure’ of the boom system, the TU 285 guarantees easy handling in tight traffic situations. Therefore, this STEIGER ® is just as interesting for handicraft or tree trimming companies as municipalities, public utilities or power companies.

Some examples of the CITY-STEIGER ® TU 285 AD as shown on the left are again on the ‘shopping list’ of mateco. The following optimal performance data appear in this model:
with a super-compact design, consisting of:
- 28.50 m working height and
- 20.50 m lateral outreach
- a short overall length of only 6.96 m, combined with a
- short wheelbase of 3.60 m and a
- low clearance height of 3.69 m.
The telescopic TU 285 upper boom has been designed especially to be long. So you can, for example, telescope over objects, and then lower the upper boom behind objects and work there. At the same time the truck can be placed and supported extremely close to the object.
Our CITY-STEIGER ® TU 285 is developing into a genuine success story in the industry.
Since its launch in the summer of 2014 we were able to sell 40 units to both our national and international customers.
